Re | Engage
What is re|engage?
Re|engage is a marriage enrichment program, which helps couples understand God’s design for marriage, apply His Word to their lives, and grow in their relationships with God, with one another, and with other couples in a similar station of life.
Through large-group testimonies & teaching, small-group interaction led by mentor couples, and weekly homework, husbands and wives can grow in their love for Jesus and one another. Marriages in any condition can benefit, whether you are still getting to know one another as a newlywed, have a good marriage and want to grow closer together, are struggling to get along, or are in dire need of rescue & redemption.
What can I expect?
The format includes a large-group teaching/testimony session for 30-35 minutes, followed by small group discussion for 80-90 minutes. Small groups include up to 5 participant couples and 1 mentor couple.
This fall, re|engage will meet the 3 Wednesday nights (6:30-8pm) of Reboot (Aug 21 & 28 and Sept 4) and then meet on Monday nights (6:30-8:45pm) for 13 weeks from September 16-December 9.
What is my commitment?
Couples commit to 4 things:
1. Participate in every session. These groups are closed, so everyone is expected to attend and participate as much as possible.
2. Be open and honest. Couples are expected to share their story in their group. In addition, husbands and wives should be ready to confess their struggles and sins, as well as their hopes and dreams. The more transparency, the more opportunity for growth and restoration to take place.
3. Listen to Godly counsel. In large-group gatherings and small-group discussion, couples will hear stories, teaching, and practical wisdom from mentor couples who humbly share their own experiences of God’s grace and victory in the midst of hard times.
4. Complete homework. To get the most out of re|engage, couples should complete weekly homework exercises (both alone and together) prior to each session. This will help couples personally apply God’s Word to their hearts, lives, and marriages.
